  • Just wow!

    Arcade Machine Splash Screen

Was able to extract the video with the permission of the owner of the youtube channel and remove the sound and speed up the video to fit our needs.

    Enjoy! Compal fl92 drivers.

Would be very easy to reproduce if you needed a widescreen version of it.

Would be cool with Retropie logo instead Nintendo, IMHO.
    but great stuff

Here you go sur0x, widescreen and Retropie. I didn’t know who the little pear character was. I want to say I’ve seen him before but I couldn’t find him. So I replaced him with Kirby. And made the characters a little easier to make out.

you guys are bloody good. Rookervik, if you could possibly add the original soundtrack to your splash-screen would be even more awesome. I guess this could easily become the official splash screen of retropie

The original background music won’t fit in this version. This splash-video is only 27 seconds long. That’s my guess on the average time it takes a Raspberry Pi 2 to get to the ES loading screen. Not sure if there’s different music, or just adding sound effects from each game to the characters’ light-up moment.

Here it is. I extracted the original soundtrack, used audacity for cutting and reorganising it to match the video in 27 sc. long process and not perfect but I’m quite happy though. Then I used Avidemux to reassemble the soundtrack with your video Rookervik.
You can download the compressed version on my drive (0.9 MB) that I use for my retropie:

or download the uncompressed one from the Youtube Link below:

here it is: video + music now compressed <2MB (0.9 MB), use it, modify/improve it, share it.

great ill add to the randomizer :P thanks rookervik and gnuku!!

    my pleasure!

Nice screen, I realy like the Nintendo style logo.

    Great work guys. Nicely done!

Very cool! The little pear guy is Mr. Gimmick

Oh my days I love this boot video! It’s my favorite one. Also that background music is love!

What is that track and is it possible to have a music track playing in the background? If so I want that music.

HOW oh HOW do I get this to be my loading screen?!

    I’ll look around.

    Nosedeath, use this: https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-setup/wiki/splashscreen

It will tell you how to upload custom splashscreens. It’s incredibly easy, even more so with the use of WinSCP (assuming you use windows).

Would anyone happen to know how to speed up the video to about 10 seconds? I love the video, but it barely hits the second character before ES starts. 1st world problems…

I sped up the Retropie one (without music) so its just a little bit more then 10sec. (x2.5)

Could someone make the 10 second video have the music?
